Transition

It has come to the time of year when weather and nature have started to transition from winter to spring. In this blog I have tried to show some of the changes we see on our lake here in Minnesota.

The first set are my first images in Black and White. When we opened the house and looked outside on a beautiful day in February, everything was coated in a thick coat of hoarfrost. I had to head outside and capture the following two images, I attempted to show what an amazing day it really was. Within ah hour of capturing these images it was gone.

This image is towards the lake

This image shows how thick the covering was that morning

Last Saturday evening as i was looking out the door and watching the ice disappear off of our lake, the second phase of the transition, and I didn't think too much of it. After I sat down and looked again, the whole scene had changed. These reflections suddenly appeared. I just had to capture a couple of these images, which I feel captures the ending of our ice cover.

Directly across the lake from our house.

I turned and noticed the water tower and had to capture this

As my wife and I came home from work tonight we both went out and looked at the new crocus flowers blooming in front of the garage. This I thought would show the last and final Transition, from Winter, to Ice out. to flowers blooming in Spring. The Final awakening.

A small white crocus

A nice purple striped one.

I hope you like my discoveries of the transition we see here in Minnesota, Enjoy.
